Manuka Honey is special because it is heat tolerant. This means that at normal body temperature (98.6) the enzymes remain active when taken internally. This allows the enzymes to work effectively against the H-Pylori bacteria that can cause digestive problems. Wrong item shipped

Diffefent type of Manuka honey was shipped. The item picture shown on the amazon page is with green cap and manuka flower illustration on white gackground, and clearly said "100% raw certified."

What I was received was totally different package. With blue cap and with no "raw" statement at all. This was the same product I saw the same one at my nearby health store and I've been avoiding to buy it since I was not sure if it was really raw.

I felt like I was cheated.

CONTAINER SECURITY SEAL BROKEN

Concisely, when I received the Manuka honey in the mail, I was dissapointed to find the security seal broken; that is, when I unscrewed the lid of the jar, the white plastic disk merely fell off, no tamper seal. My choices remained three-fold: (1) Use a different retailer and trash my $40 honey jar, (2) Risk my life and consume thusly, and or (3) Send it back or trash the item. Sadly, the retailer either: (1) Sent the item as received [and no tamper seal exists], (2) the retailer pulled the old "switch-aroo", and or (3) the retailer diluted and or contaminated my food product. Finally, in the event I receive a sealed container from said seller, I shall update my response accordingly; find a different retailer.

Excellent honey

I ordered this honey under the Subscription program in which Amazon will ship you the product at the schedule you set. This gave me fifteen percent discount which helped to bring the price down to palatable level (no pun intended).

The Jar I got from Amazon does indicate it is 100% raw and 20+ rating. It does not indicate if it was certified by a recognized organization in New Zealand. UMF certification is done by an independent organization and nowhere in the jar is that indicated. I would feel much better if this was done and it would have merited a 5 star.

I did have a teaspoon to taste it and it is very pleasant taste, the color is lighter and creamier than the previous Manuka Honey I had. The last one I got was certified to be UMF 10+ and had darker color and deeper taste.

This jar indicates the 20+ was an indication of Peroxide activity. I did not know that Manuka honey had peroxide activity and that explains the disinfection nature of the honey!

Overall for the price I paid for it is a very good honey and will find out whether it does do what it is supposed to do when I get a wound or a sore spot and will report it here accordingly.
